The Warragul RSL is proudly hosting a chapter of Guitars 4 Vets (G4V) Australia, giving local veterans an opportunity to learn the guitar.
Mission
To support Australian veterans with music lessons, guitars and teach them how to play the basics of guitar.
Approach
We assist those that served by seeking donations of used or new guitars, together with financial support for lessons.
G4VA co-ordinates veterans and delivers a structured professional guitar training program of 10 lessons and a free guitar.
Guitars For Vets Australia is an ACNC not-for-profit organisation with a simple objective to assist veterans discover the joy of music in the form of the simple guitar - strings and wood. We believe "Where words fail, music speaks".

Hosted by Warragul RSL and facilitated by our Service Member - Hans Rehorn, participants will be taught how to play the guitar and play at least one tune. Thereafter it is anticipated that the group will develop, and ongoing practice with oversight by Hans and others will occur weekly – it is envisioned that it will become an interest group that will grow as participants enjoy catching up to play their guitars together.
The program will commence with an initial set of five tutorials delivered weekly on a big screen [Zoom or similar] which will be conducted at Warragul RSL. The remote tutor will have Hans [a capable guitarist] as the in classroom support person.
Guitars are supplied free to participants and will become the property of the veteran on completion of the introductory training program.
Once we have at least four participants who will commit to the five week program [the initial training period] the program will get underway.
The time and day of the week that sessions will take place will be determined by what suits the majority.
